The PHIX Inc. cleanroom and offices in Bozeman, Montana, were officially opened during a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on October 7th. For this special celebration, our U.S. team was joined by PHIX CEO Albert Hasper, Jose Pozo of Optica, and several key photonics industry executives and Montana officials.
This facility not only brings PHIX’s engineering support and production closer to our North American customers. It also significantly complements Montana’s Integrated Photonics Ecosystem (IPE), adding packaging and assembly to the region’s already strong competences in photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design, development, and testing, as well as companies commercializing PIC-based products.
To capitalize on PHIX’s positive impact on the region, CEO Albert Hasper performed the ribbon cutting together with Jason Yager, Executive Director of the Montana Photonics & Quantum Alliance (MPQA), and Sarah Swanson, Commissioner of Labor and Industry for the State of Montana.
“Opening our U.S. facility in Bozeman brings PHIX closer to our customers and to a growing photonics ecosystem in the United States. Montana has built a strong combination of industry, research, and public investment around photonics, and we are excited to be part of that growth. This facility gives us a platform to expand our U.S. presence and support companies working to bring new photonic technologies to the market close to our U.S. customers.”
