Rabobank and PHIX partner for sustainable growth in the Dutch photonic chip sector

PHIX, a fast-growing Dutch scale-up in photonic chip technology, is receiving financing from Rabobank to enable further scaling of its production capacity. 

Photonic chips contribute to reducing energy consumption in data centers and digital infrastructures, which is essential for the ever-increasing need for information processing. This technology not only meets the growing demand for more advanced chip solutions, but also contributes to the energy transition and the sustainability of our society.

PHIX designs and manufactures modules based on photonic chips, or photonic integrated circuits (PICs). PICs offer greater data transfer speed and lower energy consumption when compared to electronic chips, and they open up new innovative applications. PIC-based modules can be part of, for example, LiDAR systems for self-driving vehicles, mobile medical scanners, or quantum computers. As one of the fastest growing production companies in The Netherlands, PHIX serves some of the biggest and most innovative deep tech companies in the world with photonic chip packaging.
