PHIX Photonics Assembly offers packaging and assembly services for all major photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology platforms (like Indium Phosphide, Silicon Photonics, Silicon Nitride, and Planar Lightwave Circuit). We are specialized in hybrid integration of chip-to-chip and fiber-to-chip modules. PHIX provides a one-stop-shop for optoelectronic module assembly, from design to volume production. From our state-of-the-art facility in Enschede, The Netherlands, we support the global industrial development of PIC-enabled modules.

Assembling your PICs into functional modules in scalable volumes is PHIX’s core expertise. We have a broad experience in designing and assembling modules for telecommunications, industrial, automotive, medical, space and defense applications. We support all major material platforms and can even co-package multiple PIC technologies into one product. If possible, we would like to start collaborating with you at an early stage of your chip design. The early involvement of our experts can be crucial for the optimal performance, cost and manufacturability of your module, in small batches and in high volumes.

If you want to outsource your photonics or MEMS assembly process or you’re looking for a secondary supplier to your own manufacturing, we are your trusted partner and scale up with your growth. Our engineering team can validate what is required for a safe launch transfer and decide together how to release our packaging foundry for your product.

We’re happy to support you by performing dedicated steps of your production on our equipment. Here we offer services for wafer dicing, die bonding, wire bonding, hybrid assembly, fiber attachment, testing, and many more.

Fiber Arrays

PHIX manufactures high performance standard and custom v-groove fiber arrays. Our polarization maintaining fiber arrays have very precise axis alignment and high extinction ratios, while our multi-mode fiber arrays can be made with a variety of fibers including non-fluorescent, UV fibers, and Mid-IR fibers.

We offer an optional lithographic spot size converter (SSC) for mode field matching your fiber to your photonic integrated circuit.
