Project leader/ process engineer Photonic Packaging

PHIX is a packaging foundry for photonic ICs (PICs) and we aim to become world leader in packaging and assembly of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). We supply customized PIC based components and modules to OEM customers and system integrators in scalable production volumes.

We believe that early involvement is critical to come to the best results and therefore PHIX is also offering engineering support in the product design phase to ensure the manufacturability of the PIC based modules. PHIX is a scale-up company that started operations in 2018. 

Job description

As Project leader / process engineer photonic packaging you are responsible as engineering lead in customer projects and R&D projects where PHIX is developing assembly processes for photonic IC based products.

• Represent PHIX and coordinate PHIX activities in R&D project consortia
• Act as project lead for customer projects
• Translate customer requirements in specific assembly process designs
• Define product design optimizations to optimize manufacturability

Professional Requirements

• Degree in Photonics, Physics or Electrical engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in photonics
• Experience in project management of R&D project in consortia with multiple parties
• Experience in applying 6 Sigma in product development and process improvement.
• Practical and pragmatic approach
• Capable of working independently
• Good reporting and documentation skills

Languages

• Fluency in English
• Dutch or willing to learn to speak Dutch
